New Moon 10 Cancer 37  Total Solar Eclipse

3:16 pm EDT

The Sagittarius Full Moon on June 19 was quite glorious, and it gave us the opportunity to celebrate where we are. Along with the flowering of all we have put into action, the Full Moon also lit up new things for us to work with during the two week passage to this New Moon. The Sagittarian quality of our Consciousness gives us the courage to address the old and tackle the new. As a wisdom sign (formerly mutable) Sagittarius facilitates change by making physical movement possible, and making it a bit of an adventure.

There is a rhythm of life that the Moon sets for us through its cycles. It is completely reliable and always here for us to work with. When a wormhole opens an eclipse cycle (also always predicable) occurs, providing us with a way to use the Moon’s energies to get to new places and move in directions that diverge from our normal paths. The Moon is our closest, most intimate planetary archetype, and it influences life cycles on Earth profoundly. With Cancer we are in the most dignified part of our lunar experience, because the Moon disposes Cancer. There are three other planets also in dignity right now: Jupiter in Sagittarius, Saturn in Capricorn, and Neptune in Pisces. This adds great appropriateness to everything the New Moon brings.
Our Cancer consciousness is where the still point resides within us. This point is standard operating equipment for all humans. Most tangibly, it can be realized in the space between the inhale and exhale of each breath we take. In Cancer we learn to nurture and tend to this still point. The beauty is that no matter how we might struggle with finding this point, everything we experience in in our life will direct us back here, despite what we think about it. This still point is where we find the room for growth and it is the take off point for the ongoing process of Self-realization (ascension).

The New Moon is conjunct Sirius (where we tap into the wisdom of the Masters) at 14 Cancer, and the Soul Star (North Node, where we find access to our destiny) at 18 Cancer.  Sirius tends to open a door to wisdom we have not considered before, and the Soul Star points the way to use emotion in a way that best serves our individual and collective journeys.
A New Moon (solar) eclipse is always an opportunity to reboot our awareness and feelings about our lives. The Sun and Moon are the Lights, generating our consciousness. During the day, we usually see and always feel the Sun.  In the evening, depending on the time of month, we can see the Moon as she lights our way with her gentle luminosity. These Lights generate our core identity (the Sun) and our inner emotional core (the Moon). During a total solar eclipse, the connection between the Sun and the Moon is temporarily shut down when the Earth gets in between them.  Our collective consciousness Knows that the Sun will always emerge out of the Moon’s shadow, as it has “always” been. While there is no reason to doubt this, based on centuries of scientific observation, it still requires a leap of faith. This particular eclipse will start in the Pacific Ocean and travel over a narrow band, through Chile and Argentina before it dissipates. However, the entire world is affected by the eclipse, and the thing to do is open our hearts to whatever presents itself.

The Sun disposes Leo, and there are four significant bodies in Leo right now forming an intimacy (semi-sextile) aspect with the New Moon (Sun and Moon). Mars (our physicality) is at 1 Leo; Varuna (where we access the highest perspective possible) is at 2 Leo; Mercury (how we communicate) is at 3 Leo; and Juno (where we find the oneness inherent in all relationships) is at 6 Leo. What we say and what we do are intrinsically tied to our vision and destiny through this stellium—all of which will go dark for a moment during the eclipse. To paraphrase Stephanie Azaria, “The Leo consciousness is not about being recognized—it is about knowing it is recognizable. It is not about making sure it’s seen; it is about knowing it is the Light” This is important to remember during an eclipse, where for a moment of two—whether you see the eclipse or not—your conscious awareness is totally rebooted. This is the moment when we need to trust in trust and have faith in faith, Knowing that the Sun’s Light will return again after the Earth passes by.
Also in intimacy with the New Moon are Astraea (where we realize the fullness of our feminine spirit) at 10 Gemini and the Fixed Star Alcyone at 0 Gemini.  Alcyone is the brightest star in the Pleiades and supports our seeing things we may have ignored before. Alcyone harkens a new vocabulary and perspective on gender that supports an entire non-binary spectrum. This has always been part of the human DNA, and we are finally evolving enough to explore and accept this reality. The eclipse reboot can support a new level of acceptance if we choose to open our eyes.
These planets and points, so close to the New Moon, harken a very personal re-boot experience. Cancer represents all forms of nurturing, and it is a space where we can mother our inner most self. This is a place that is so natural to each of us that we frequently forget it is there and how to access it. This deep still point does not ever waver, as it holds the I AM presence for all of us. The eclipse provides a pathway to that quiet still place where we can just “be” during the eclipse. If we use the duration of the eclipse as if it were a sensory deprivation tank, then we can be open to the eclipse energies and any unexpected movement in an appropriate and dignified way. All the planets and points in intimacy ensure that the New Moon passage is lovingly supported to bring us exactly where we need to be.

In resource (sextile) to the New Moon is Vesta (what we are devoted to) at 9 Taurus; Uranus (where we awaken) at 6 Taurus; and Albion (how music and sound permeates us) at 9 Taurus. Also in resource is Orcus (where we recognize what is eternal)  at 9 Virgo. We may find some lasting joy coming from that which we have been devoting our energy to.
Manifesting with the stellium of the Sun/Moon, Sirius, and the Soul Star is Neptune at 19 Pisces. The true purpose of where the eclipse may take us will probably not be obvious. Any confusion or murkiness that arises will start to dissipate during the passage to the upcoming Capricorn Full Moon.
Most remarkably, the New Moon is part of two Grand Power Crossroads (formerly Cardinal crosses). One falls in early degrees, and the other in later degrees of the power signs (Capricorn, Aries, Cancer, and Libra). Because these two Power Crossroads involve the Moon, they key into our deepest held feelings and will activate our emotions. Both Crossroads provide amazing options to channel this energy. We can consciously do this by standing in the middle of each Crossroad, using the observer’s perch. We can meditate on how each Crossroad stands apart yet also layers on top of each other, like a 3-D chess set, or a piece of layered cake.

The first Grand Power Crossroad is formed by the Light Bridge spanning the Moon, Venus approaching Cancer and Quaoar (where we access new ways of thinking) at 2 Capricorn. This is a gift, helping us to lift any negative feelings into a new emotional intelligence. Quaoar is travelling alongside Ixion at 27 Sagittarius (our soul’s true purpose), so whatever we do to make good use of this Bridge will stick with us.
Crossing this is Chiron (where we whole ourselves) at 6 Aries conjunct Salacia (where we recognize light and shadow) at 5 Aries. Here we can find some perspective and the wholing of some old wounds that we may have forgotten about, or may have neglected. There can be an easing about any and all of these. Chiron and Salacia Bridge MakeMake (where we recognize universal truths) at 4 Libra. While Pallas Athena (where we access wisdom) at 14 Libra is travelling with MakeMake she is also directly bridging the Moon. This offers us the choice to react to something that happens as “someone did something to us,” or respond to the event as something we designed to push us to a greater understanding of our interdependence with others. This early sign Crossroad presents the opportunity to actively use the five human values of Truth, Right Conduct, Peace, Love, and Nonviolence, especially if we feel emotionally stressed during the New Moon.

The second Grand Power Crossroad adds real potency to the New Moon. We won’t really be able to grasp the strength of our emotional responses until the next Full Moon in Capricorn, which is also a partial lunar eclipse. One end of the Light Bridge starts with the Cancer stellium of the Sun/Moon, Sirius, and the Soul Star to the other end formed by the Earth Star (South Node, where we address our karma) at 18 Capricorn, conjunct Saturn (where we access inner authority) at 18 Capricorn. Also part of this grouping is Pluto (where we transform) at 22 Capricorn and Chariklo (where we stabilize our awareness) at 24 Capricorn.
This Cancer/Capricorn Light Bridge directly asks us to take responsibility for both our karma and our destiny, if you will. The way out of victimhood is to accept that everything that happens to us is something that is designed to will help us. Someone or something else may have been the messenger, but they are not the problem or the source. It may not feel that way, but our feelings only set the stage for action. The action is our emotional response. It is up to us to select the one most appropriate.
Crossing is the Light Bridge comprised of Haumea (where we create Unity Consciousness) at 25 Libra, conjunct Regulus (which adds the best sense of grandeur) at 24 Libra and Eris (the great inner disrupter) at 24 Libra. As this Light Bridge is starting to dissipate, we have the opportunity to let all that feels disruptive push us along this Light Bridge toward creating Unity Consciousness. We cannot use the same precepts and emotional responses in the Aquarian age. The Haumea/Eris Light Bridge has been a major boon. As Stephanie Azaria wrote in her blog for June 29, this Bridge will always be with us, because we know where it is, how to travel on it, and where it can take us.
These Power Crossroads will feel very personal as the eclipse takes us to new and higher ground. Remember, the eclipse is a sideways elevator, and wherever it takes us is exactly where we need to be. The message is that whatever happens we are nurtured and cradled by the very dignified Cancer energy, which infused with our destiny and the wisdom of the masters. This is the time to really use these Power Crossroads.
