We continue along in the process of Pluto transiting from 29o Capricorn into the new paradigm of innovative Aquarius on January 20. Mercury is picking up steam as it squares diffuse Neptune (which you’ll feel all week), interfering with left-brain processing and slowing us down.

Jan 8 – Mercury square Neptune. Factual info may get lost in a fog, as confusion and miscommunications are possible, so rely on your Inner Guidance for direction (yes-no). Use email for documentation whenever possible for backup and support. Mercury square Neptune is nonlinear, inviting you to dream, be creative and use your intuition and spiritual practices to relax in consciousness and arrive at answers experientially if you have questions that aren’t data-driven.

You can’t get all the answers to life’s questions with your mind. There’s a higher dimensional space – and that’s where this is. Be in nature, bask in silence and let your nervous system relax and reconnect with the natural world. This is fertile ground for messages from the higher realms. Use this energy to envision your soul’s desires or journal stream of consciousness writing and see what comes through. This writing allows you to channel your unconscious – perfect for creating intentions and gaining clarity.

Jan 9 – Sun trine Uranus – This is the energy of liberation, freedom and stimulation – you are inspired to do something different, go in an alternative direction or make a change that is enlivening for you. This is especially powerful if you feel stuck or trapped and need a release. Honor your Authentic Self and pay attention to your inner promptings; you have no idea how life-changing they may be!

Jan 9 – Mars sextile Saturn – Clarify your priorities, make decisions and use this highly productive energy to focus on what needs to happen for the long-term. This action-structure duo supports plans, projects and practical efforts that require commitment and dedicated effort. And this goes perfectly with the Sun-Uranus aspect, as Mars-Saturn can support or facilitate any changes you want to make in practical ways.

Jan 11 – New Moon in Capricorn on Jan 11 @ 3:58am PST. After the New Moon you can set plans in motion and take actions toward your intentions for the coming year that will create your foundation. This is a powerful new beginning for 2024, as Capricorn is the sign of commitment, structure, discipline, your Inner Authority and things that last. Release what is no longer needed or working, align with your integrity and get real about what needs attention. This is when you decide to fulfill a vow to your Self (after all, you are your life partner :)).

Capricorn is a practical earth sign, which speaks to your physical reality – and the New Moon trines Uranus (change), so this can pertain to your body, your health, your habits, your location or your home. Maybe you’re ready for a change in one or more of these areas. Mars (action) in harmony with Saturn (structure) and Jupiter (expansion) indicates that they are all working together to create stability and a strong container that you can rely on. Opportunities, possibilities and change!

Venus trines Chiron on the New Moon, offering the potential for heart-healing, compassion and feeling, rather than living from the mind. Lovingkindness is the greatest gift you can give to yourself and others. Open your heart and notice what blocks you from receiving, loving, being loved, being well paid for your work, or feeling good about who you are (not just for what you

do). Then commit to taking actions to correct whatever is blocking the flow of love from coming in or out of your heart, if needed.

This is an extremely fertile New Moon; all planets involved are making aspects to others, creating an abundance of productive energy. All planets are in Direct motion except for Uranus, which will go Direct on Jan 27, so it won’t be long before the pace will pick up and we’ll be flying!

That’s why it’s a good idea to get your ducks in a row as much as possible now. Use the New Moon in Capricorn energy to serve your well being and to prepare for going forward. It is my belief and experience that you don’t do things until you’re ready. If you know you “should” be doing something, but you don’t, it’s probably because you’re not ready on some (inner) level. I suggest finding support to help you get ready.

It will be very helpful to focus on your intentions for 2024 or for the near future. They have more power than you can imagine, so want the best for yourself. Remember the truth of who you are – what you have to offer, to contribute and would like to participate in.

We will be moving into a new world that will welcome your gifts, strengths and talents – and it will be very different than the world we have today. It won’t happen right away, but we are in preparation mode, so I remind you that you are here now, on purpose, to fulfill a role that you are perfect for. Sit with that and contemplate…

The only limitations you have regarding your Self and your future are in your mind. The more you envision a bigger picture for yourself, the more possible it is – and this is in the context of who you came here to be.

The world will miss your needed contributions if you play small. Please don’t minimize who you are and why you’re here. This is your soul contract.

Welcome to Capricorn season! We follow last night’s Winter Solstice with a busy astrological week, as Retrograde Mercury changes signs and is very active, along with Venus and Mars before, during and after Christmas and the Full Moon. I will break it down…

Dec 22 – Mercury Retrograde cazimi (conjunct) the Sun. The midpoint of Mercury’s Retrograde journey and an opening for awareness, a realization, download, insight or understanding that allows you to make sense of something that may have eluded you. Go within and ask for an answer you seek. Listen, journal, allow and watch for signs that deliver a message to you.

Dec 23 – Mercury in Sagittarius. After three weeks in serious Capricorn, Mercury backs into impulsive, high energy Sagittarius until Jan 13 and here, Mercury wants adventure, the truth and speaks without a filter – very stream of consciousness… This is perfect for big picture ideas, not for details, especially during Mercury Retrograde (another layer of potential snafus). Also, Sag rules travel – and during the holidays, this could imply mixups with the Retro energy, so be extra mindful and double-check schedules and plans.

Dec 24 – Sun sextile Saturn. This is a stable energy that supports personal decisions about boundaries, discipline, habits, commitment (a vow to yourself), and goals for 2024. This is also good for focusing on last minute shopping, if necessary or just a productive day. Regarding being with friends and family, this can be a traditional gathering w/ elders, following family customs, enjoying their wisdom or stories about the good old days.

Dec 25 – Venus trine Neptune. This soft, spiritual energy is perfect for Christmas Day, as Venus and Neptune in harmony creates Divine Love or the Christ consciousness – compassion, empathy and non-judgment, serving those who are less fortunate. It activates imagination, the beauty of All That Is, romance, singing, dancing, relaxing and Oneness. Enjoy this precious day with loved ones, friends or by being in service to those in need. There is always a place for everyone.

Dec 26 – Full Moon in Cancer @ 4:33pm PDT. The Full Moon is when things come to light or it’s the culmination of what’s already in process. The Full Moon in sensitive, intuitive Cancer brings up issues of emotional security and professional achievement or your Inner Authority.

Here are some pertinent questions:

* Is your home life nurturing for you – or do you provide all the nurturing for others?

If anything is of alignment, then a course correction is called for. Be willing to take action to remedy any energetic drains or gaps in your personal and professional life – and if you don’t know what they are, get help to find out. This action alone can change your life dramatically! The goal is to restructure your life so you can create what you want and need while feeling honored, comfortable and whole.

Dec 26 – Chiron turns Direct. Chiron in Aries asks you to be your Self and to drop any forms of hiding via people-pleasing, withholding or clinging to old patterns of behavior that mask your truth for fear of rejection, abandonment or judgment. If you have to pretend in order to fit in, you are with the wrong people! When you have the courage to be yourself, you will magnetize the people who resonate with you into your orbit. The old crowd will probably be shocked or surprised and maybe push back a little. Be prepared, but stay the course. You can’t have a life that’s aligned with your soul’s purpose if you aren’t being honest with yourself and others – and YOU and your life are worth it!

Dec 27 – Retrograde Mercury square Neptune. When Mercury is traveling backwards, it’s more right-brained, more intuitive than linear, so this square forces you to tune in and feel what *feels* right when making decisions. Double-check data and know that like driving through fog, you can only see a what’s right in front of you; long-rang plans may be blurry now, so you are better off waiting. This is good for spiritual or creative activities, leisure or rest.

Mercury square Neptune is powerful for visioning, dreaming, channeling and tapping into messages that appear in your consciousness – and resonate with you somewhere deep within. Anything that inspires you is meant for you, whether you know how it can happen or not. Hold onto that dream. It is a seed that will sprout in Divine Timing and Mercury-Neptune will be in aspect all week. Dream away…

Dec 27 – Sun trine Jupiter. This amplifies your vitality, confidence and elevates your outlook – it’s the can-do energy of making things happen and the willingness to stretch into a challenge. Step out of your comfort zone and expand your horizons today! Reach out, make connections, visualize where you want to go and take an action. If you can see it, you can be it. Yes you can!

Dec 27 – Mercury conjunct Mars. This can be a problem unless you are controlled, very well behaved or with people you know well, who you won’t offend. Mercury with Mars in Sagittarius is impulsive, outspoken and can come across as aggressive or attacking via its delivery (rapid fire and direct). Plus, with Mercury and Neptune in the mix, misunderstandings can easily be fuel for conflicts. This energy is combustible and easily

triggered, tempers can potentially flare, so bite your tongue and easy does it later in the day.

Dec 28 – Mars square Neptune. Mars wants to go forward and Neptune is diffuse, redirecting the energy so that you can only utilize it by going within and feeling how and when to move intuitively. The Taoist principle of Wu Wei implies actions that are spontaneous, natural and effortless, that arise when you are connected to yourself and your environment. Never pushing or forcing, but rather, flowing around obstacles. This is how to work with a Mars-Neptune square and it’s not our Western way of being direct, pushing ahead. Wu Wei and the Taoist tradition is much more holistic, respectful and gentle, which aligns with this aspect.

This holiday week contains messages, insights and information for you to consider, sit with, feel into and make decisions about. Stay attuned to your Inner Self, to how you feel, to your world and how it supports you (or not). If you de-personalize the messages – everything is just information for you to make use of.

Because Mercury is so active, there are important messages incoming (verbal and non- verbal). Pay attention to what is said and unsaid. Be mindful with your words and what you say.

Love yourself, love your loved ones, love your friends, your furry friends, and the wonderful support people who help your life run smoothly.

This week culminates in the Winter Solstice on Dec 21, as the Sun enters the aspirational sign of Capricorn at 7:27pm PST initiating a rebirth, as winter officially begins with the Return of the Light. But prior to that, there are lively aspects present that can expand your consciousness, allowing for a renewed experience of reality if you will loosen your grip on your old “structures of knowing” (beliefs). Not always easy to do, but a worthy cause…

Dec 16 – The Sun square Neptune. Higher experience or lower? This spacious energy of imagination and infinite potential literally has no boundaries or limitations. Tapping into higher dimensional realities can activate downloads, messages, creative flow, supports spiritual practices, being in nature and/or service that feeds the spirit and elevates your reality. There is no limit to what you can dream up – and yes, your dreams are real. If they are in your consciousness, they are meant for YOU!

But Sun-Neptune can also create illusions that mislead, deceive or disappoint you (idealizing others), can bring up grief, melancholy, disillusionment, victimhood or escapism when the world feels too harsh. It’s up to you to utilize the energy in healthy ways – and if you are hurting, reach out for help. Neptune can go low, but it can rebound and rise up like no other, so never, never give up if you’re on the downside.

Dec 18 – Mercury trine Jupiter. This is an upbeat, productive aspect with bright ideas and solid plans, giving and receiving good news or positive communications that may be the continuation of something you began on Dec 7 when Mercury and Jupiter met earlier this month. The energy is stable, grounded and practical, yet it will expand your world. A wonderful gift, so use it well!

Dec 19 – The Sun conjunct the Galactic Center. This is an annual event, as the Sun crosses the center of the Milky Way, downloading frequencies that you may not be aware of. This affects the collective, as life on the planet is ascending more rapidly than our human minds can grasp, which accelerates our spiritual evolution. Focus on the idea of grace being delivered to all and to you, no matter what the world looks like. We are in the breakdown before the breakthrough.

Dec 20 – Venus opposite Uranus. This indicates a rebellious or impulsive action, seeking liberation. This can be a breakup, breaking out of a stale situation or a breakthrough. But it arises spontaneously after feeling oppressed for a time, when you can’t take anymore. Don’t burn a bridge you will later regret.

In relationship, Venus is connection and Uranus, independence and change, which means one is reaching out and the other is breaking away. It can be an unavailable person, jealousy or excitement, but it’s fleeting or chaotic, or the unexpected interferes with your Self-worth or love object. Venus is in Scorpio, so it won’t just lie down if there is interference with your heart’s desire.

The level of spiritual maturity will determine how things play out based on the plot line, but there is a lesson and healing involved depending on how personal the circumstances are if this touches your life. It can refer to your Self-worth, $$, relationships, beauty, style or creativity. I think this is meant to highlight weak areas if you are triggered by Uranus (the unexpected) and where you are operating in lack if you are triggered by Venus (love, $$, what you value). Notice what comes up for you, if anything, and put it on the Needs Attention for Healing list going forward.

Dec 21 – Mercury sextile Saturn. This pair is perfect for schedules, plans, outlines, structures, agreements and it is a follow up to Dec 2 when they met for the first time this month, therefore, you may be continuing something you began earlier. Mercury in Capricorn is so clear and well organized, which is perfect for creating your Winter Solstice Intentions, as it will help you articulate your goals for 2024.

Dec 21 – Winter Solstice / Sun in Capricorn. The shortest day of the year and The Return of the Light, a reverent time of withdrawal and reflection. This is a powerful time to acknowledge the road you’ve traveled over the past year, as you look ahead with vision, faith and gratitude for your experience.

The Sun in Capricorn brings you down to earth with practical actions, thinking, reality checks and an eye on responsibility. In the midst of the holidays, this supports grounding and staying conscious, especially during Mercury Retrograde (thru Jan 1).

On a metaphysical level, Capricorn urges you to claim your Inner Authority and learn to trust your Self when making decisions (what feels right for you), rather than looking for outside approval, permission or agreement. If you need support, ok, but being directed by others or being a “follower” is disempowering.

You cannot be in your power if you are living by someone else’s decisions. Time to step into YOUR life, your way! If you don’t know how to do it, get help asap – it will change everything!

What a sacred, fertile, supportive week we have in store for us – full of potential for opening, organizing, liberating, contemplating and visioning for 2024. Elements are coming together and falling into place on various levels, many beyond our 3D minds. You don’t have to do everything yourself. Tend to your world and your sacred space and allow the peace within and beauty of the season to soothe your heart and soul.
