New Moon 28 Cancer 26 End of the Wormhole

1:33 pm EST

The wormhole has come to an end with this New Moon in Cancer. It has been quite a ride, and unlike any other we have taken, given the global crisis with COVID-19. Each eclipse was accompanied by “sideways elevators,” to take us to new emotional ground. This is the second Cancer New Moon, punctuated between, with a Capricorn Full Moon. The Cancer New Moon on 21 June was at the beginning degrees of the Cancer quality of consciousness that we all hold. The early degrees of a sign holds the promise of all the attributes of that sign, and it is our task to make a way for them to unfold. We did that, and the Capricorn Full Moon served as a kind of physical landmark, if you will, like rocks in the middle a river, with water cascading around them. The rocks are wet, but they retain their physical form, even with water flowing all around them. The Cancer-Capricorn polarity takes us front and center to what it means to feel deeply secure, nurtured, and whole while asking us to stand up and be the authority we seek within our own lives. Within each of us is the calm, steady, and wise leader we all seek and long for, where our own voice of authority is grounded in wisdom, compassion, and Love.

This second Cancer New Moon takes us to the final degrees of Cancer—the master degree, where we are tested, in some way, to speak our emotional truth in the most authentic and true way we can come up with, without losing our center point. Cancer is all about that sense of just being, just being alive, whole, and here on this planet, and together with each other.  This second New Moon gives us the opportunity to take another look in our emotional closets to make sure we have done a thorough clean sweep, gently letting go of all that does not serve us anymore. This is the time to let go of any repressed feelings–especially those involving fear, shame, and guilt that we have carried for lifetimes without being aware we were doing so.
The Moon disposes Cancer, so anything that comes up during the New Moon is highly appropriate and dignified—meaning there is rightness, a solidness, and even a sweetness about it. To form the New Moon, the Moon and Sun are communing together which means that our sense of self-identity and our feelings about ourselves and our life experience are aligned. This is a wonderful time to check-in and see what voice and tone we use when we talk to ourselves. Travelling with the Moon is Vesta (where we find devotion) at 20 Cancer, the Fixed Star Sirius (where we tap into intuitive wisdom) at 14 Cancer—a master source of intuition for us all, and Mercury (how we communicate) at 9 Cancer. There is a real opportunity to dedicate ourselves to listening to our own wisdom. If we cannot find wisdom and solace from the outer world, this New Moon will certainly affirm that all we seek is within.

This is the time to get re-acquainted with our own internal dialogue and make any changes needed to ensure that we are using a positive, supportive voice when talking to ourselves. This is so critically important because if we are not treating ourselves with great care, we cannot possibly sustain this for others. There is a near-perfect polarity with Saturn (where we find inner authority) also at the master degree of 29 Capricorn. This polarity highlights the fact that Self-mastery is needed for all things related to time and timing. We may ask “who sets time for something to happen?” Of course, we can point to others, and world circumstances, but at a fundamental level, it is we who set the timing for everything in our lives. We do this before we are born, and none of us really understand why things happen at one point and not at another. We need to accept that at some point and level, that everything that happens to us is to help us flourish and succeed with Self-Realization.
The Moon is conjunct Varuna (where we find our highest vision) at 3 Leo. This aspect makes it easier for us to elevate our feelings-to lift them up to a precious place by respecting the reality that we will have feelings that make us feel good and bad in equal measure. Our job is to lift our emotional experiences up to a wider perspective, to “altar them” if you will so that we can also treat other people’s feelings with the same measure of respect, even if we disagree with them.
The Moon is in resource (sextile) with Sedna (where we access our ancient collective memories) at 29 Taurus. This creates an easier entree to our life lessons and how these connect to our collective history. Things may come up that look disconnected but are linked together somehow. We can find meaning and purpose in these connections if we follow the pathways our intuition points us toward. Providing further resonance is the Moon’s manifestation with Neptune (where we find illumination) at 21 Pisces. We can be confused by the number of unknown factors in our lives right now, or we can allow the infinite field of possibilities to open for us and thereby stimulate hope.

The Moon is in stepping stone (square) with Eris (where we disrupt ourselves) at 25 Aries. We need to let any disruptive feelings just flow through us as they will loosen any blockages. Eris is the archetype of the true inner voice, and when we work with this archetype, we realize that every sense of emotional discomfort or confusion is designed to open our awareness and provide us with a more expansive and authentic experience.

The Moon is also in stepping stone with Haumea (where we tap into the source of creation) at 26 Libra and the Fixed Star Arcturus (science and technology) at 25 Libra. We can direct our aspirations—what we want to experience and feel in the world to the greater social good for all. Science and technology have always played a leading role in our ability to cope and survive any challenge we have confronted. What is crucially important is that we step up and allow for new and innovative ideas to come forward. Some may be relatively small acts, like following norms of wearing masks, washing hands, and practicing social distancing. Others may be larger expressions of support to efforts that will benefit society. During this crisis, we have learned that we cannot control what others do. But we can take responsibility for our own actions, attitudes, and perspectives.
Windswept places
And unsheltered spaces
Of despair
Beckon me hauntingly
To hold my vibrant celebrations
Of life there.
And, unbecoming as it seems,
I dance around the light I find
which lays the corners bare.

Returning to the bridge between the New Moon/Sun and with Saturn; travelling alongside is Chariklo (where we stabilize) at 27 Capricorn. This bridge is so profound, and because it takes us to the issue of when, where, and from whom do we accept authority in our lives. This is an open question, and the answers change depending upon who we are talking about. Are we looking at the authority of our mother and father figures? Of people we admire? Of spiritual, social, government, entertainment, or sports leaders? Of people who appear to have achieved a certain mastery in their lives? Travelling with Saturn in stellium (a grouping) are Pluto (where we transform) at 24 Capricorn, Jupiter (how we expand) at 22 Capricorn, and Pallas Athena (where we use wisdom) at 19 Capricorn. These planets are retrograde, so the focus is inward. The best way to work with a bridge, of course, is to put our consciousness to the mid-point and view wither side of the bridge with equanimity. We can travel either direction, see the linkages, and have a neutral experience by using the middle of the bridge as a fulcrum point, to balance out either side.

The Moon and Sun are part of a Grand Power Crossroad (grand cardinal cross) in polarity with Saturn, Chariklo, Pluto, Jupiter, and Pallas Athena. Crossing is Mars (how we move) at 13 Aries travelling with Chiron (where we whole ourselves) at 9 Aries, Salacia (where we play with light and shadow) and Ceres (where we midwife the new) at 2 Aries in polarity with Juno (where we find Unity consciousness) at 13 Libra. Juno is travelling with Arcturus, Haumea, and with MakeMake (where we encounter Universal Laws) at 5 Libra. This Grand Power Crossroad makes it possible to intentionally put our desires for wisdom, guidance and solace forward. The involvement of Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto means that energy is there to support the transformative social experience we are going through, with the promise that anything positive that emerges can and will be sustained. As always, it is important to place ourselves in the middle of the crossroads at all times, even as we chose to explore one log or the other. The vistas we can experience are only limited by any brakes we put on our own imaginations. This power crossroads supports innovation and creativity, especially when relating to the greater good.

Finally, it is crucial to note that there are seven planets and points at the master degree during this New Moon. These are:
  • The Moon and Sun.
  • The Soul Star Chakra (Moon’s North Node, where we encounter our destiny) at 29 Gemini, where we work with recognizing duality, and “learning to walk the talk.”
  • The Earth Star Chakra (Moon’s South Node, where we work with our karma) at 29 Sagittarius, where we clear all karma and patterns that no longer serve us.
  • Ixion (where we meet our Soul’s purpose) at 29 Sagittarius.
  • Sedna (where we access our ancient collective memory) at 29 Taurus, where we practice presence.
  • Saturn at 29 Capricorn.
It is almost overwhelming to consider all these planets and points are at the master degree. If a challenge should show up, let us all remember that a New Moon is designed to help us begin again, to start anew with a fresh perspective. If lessons need to emerge, they will do so, and without much effort. Let them emerge and come through. They are all good for us and serve our higher purpose. Reflect on our responses to all the sideways elevators that showed up during the eclipses as we travelled through the wormhole. As we leave the wormhole with so many archetypes at master degrees, we may feel tested, or we may realize the fulness of our experience to date.

When deep amethyst
shadows of despair
fall between
the soaring peaks of joy.
Surround them with your being
as a great mountain
holds all its peaks and valleys
In its enduring vastness
