For millennia, people across Europe, as well as Native American tribes, named the months after features they associated with the Northern Hemisphere seasons, and many of these names are very similar or identical (dateandtime.com). The February Full Moon is commonly known as the Snow Moon. This year, across the entire global Northern Hemisphere from North America through Europe, Northern Africa and Asia we all have experienced unprecedented accumulations of snowfall. Typically, snow is associated with cold and unpleasant attributes; however, every snowflake contains an inner beauty held within its crystalline structure that serves as a reminder that every human also has a unique inner beauty waiting to be discovered and revealed.

When I contemplated what I was going to write for the Virgo Full Moon report, the word “clarity” emerged. The white color of snow creates a great background contrast allowing us to look into the shadowy parts of ourselves that are not easily observed, and ultimately exposes what holds us back. The main purpose of the Virgo energetic is to learn how to unify ourselves spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. When we learn to heal/whole ourselves we can then use it to teach others how to unify by example.
Virgo energy also has the capacity to focus on the bigger picture of where our consciousness resides, both individually and collectively. I like to think of this as the perspective a movie director takes when they are trying to bring forward a specific message. Each and every scene in the movie, whether major or minor, has a purpose in the creation of the final outcome. The director must be able to see the whole picture so they can tie all of the scenes together, which can only be accomplished by moving their perspective to a higher point of vision. The Moon connects us with everything in our universe and when in the Virgo energetic it gives us the opportunity to see things from a higher perspective. When we become conscious of what is playing around us, or how we respond to events in our world, we can become the conscious directors of our movie.
Orcus (12º Virgo) is in a new cycle with the Moon and connects us to the part of us that lives in the invisible realm eternally and that completely understands our role here. The Moon manifesting with Uranus (7º Taurus) and Quaoar (5º Capricorn), both in earth signs, indicates we are awakening to the fact that it is we who are setting the foundation of our universe and if we desire a different outcome, we must perceive new thoughts and beliefs.
The Moon forms intimacy aspects with Varuna (3º Leo) and MakeMake (7º Libra), which I interpret as complimentary or supporting actors in the movie.  Although not front and centre, they help put the main actors out front. Varuna assists us in accessing the higher perspectives, while MakeMake reminds us that during the creation of our movie, we must always be mindful of universal law.
Keeping with the movie metaphor, we are creating subplots as the Moon has a great eliminator aspect with Saturn and Mercury in Aquarius, and with Ceres – Salacia – Chiron in Aries, creating what is known as a Finger of God that points to the Moon. All movies generally adhere to the hero’s journey model and are eloquently highlighted with this aspect. Great Eliminators offer us a choice point and, in our movie, if we choose the fear-based energies and think (Mercury) fear-based thoughts, we will indeed create a scary or even a horrifying movie. However, if we choose love as our guiding force via the heart (Venus in Pisces), Ceres will deliver us to a world of wonderment and joy. We are in a sea (Sun in Pisces) of endless possibilities and it is through exposing the shadows (Salacia) and moving toward the light we will have the clarity to create a beautiful never-ending love story. At times we may have no idea of how we will ever create our storybook love ending, but all we really need to know is that through faith and trust somehow we will find a way (Chiron – hero’s journey)–and we always do.
We truly are the director, and we have the starring role in the movie called “Our Life.”
