It’s 2025 and Venus is exalted in compassionate, mystical Pisces for a month, nurturing dreams, creativity and spirituality, inviting you to be receptive and open to Divine Love, while mental Mercury has cleared its shadow, allowing for new insights and inspired visions, informed by what you learned during its Retrograde journey.

Jan 3 – Retrograde Mars opposite Pluto. Mars has been backing into an opposition with Pluto that becomes exact today for the second time. This is war- like, combustible energy with two dominant planets and each demand their way, facing off against each other. Watch for power struggles, intensity, passionate words or provocative actions that can escalate into violence in world events. In your life, easy does it and don’t take the bait, as people can overreact on the road, on the street and online. This energy is useful for tasks that require focus, strength and perseverance if you direct the energy towards accomplishing a goal.

Jan 4 – Sun sextile Saturn. This is a helpful for grounding, sorting and deciding what needs your attention, discipline and where you’ll place your energy. This is perfect for planning, budgeting, creating a health or exercise ritual and prioritizing what you’ll commit to going forward. Is there a decision you need to make in order to fulfill a vow to your Self? If so, this would be a good day for it…

Jan 6-April 18 – Mars in Cancer. Mars Retrogrades from Leo into Cancer until it turns Direct on Feb 23. But it stays in Cancer through April 18, offering fierce protective energy for home, family, feelings and loved ones. Mars is usually direct in its approach, but in Cancer it’s more roundabout (entering sideways like a crab) and it can be passive-aggressive, rather than expressing anger outright.

Pay attention to your needs and feelings, as over-giving and lack of Self-care can lead to burnout, depletion and resentment. Be sure to mind your needs, as they are non-negotiable, and know that Mars in Cancer works best when its in the mood, so it’s a little up and down.

Jan 6 – Mercury square Neptune. This is beautiful creative energy for writing, art, music, spiritual practices and for being in nature, but don’t believe everything you read or hear today, as this is a setup for confusion and misinformation. I realizethis is the first day back to work for many post-holiday, but don’t make any big decisions or have important conversations – and give yourself regular breaks to restore your energy.

Jan 8-27 – Mercury in Capricorn. Mercury is methodical, organized and orderly, practical and happy to make a plan, schedule, create goals and structures for what you have in mind. You can bring your ideas into form, as Mercury in Capricorn is clear and strategic, willing to do the hard work and wants to create something lasting, so this grounded mental energy will serve you well for the next few weeks. Plus, it’s in new territory, having cleared its Retrograde shadow, now viewing life through new eyes, so be sure to appreciate what you *see* (literally or figuratively :)).

Chiron in Aries – The Wounded Healer / Spiritual Teacher Archetype, continues to invite you to be your Self (easier said than done after a lifetime of conditioning by family, community, culture and social media). Courage is required to drop any masks you hide behind to be acceptable, but the payoff is a life that is aligned with your Authentic Self. That is the goal. Wounds to your identity are ripe for healing and integrating going forward and this is the real work. Beliefs you have that you are not enough are just not true. Somebody gave you that idea way back when, but they were wrong. Just say “yes” to being your Self, the precious Being delivered by Spirit.

Start the new year with intention or a dream, knowing that life is magical and full of infinite possibilities. Don’t stress yourself by trying to know everything in advance, as our reference points will be shifting as the world changes. In times of uncertainty, trust that you will show up, you will have what you need and that you will land on your feet.

Anything that is unexpected will call you to stretch, upgrade, adapt and realign in order to stabilize and maintain your balance, which will keep you evolving.

The Winter Solstice occurs as the Sun enters Capricorn on Dec 21 @ 1:21am PST, the shortest day of the year in the northern hemisphere and the beginning of winter. This turning point is a time for going within to honor the darkness and rest, to prepare for the return of the light – a rebirth of sorts, for the new year ahead.

In the Winter Solstice chart, the Sun squares the Nodes of Fate, invoking a release or a change – and dreamy Neptune conjoins the North Node (Destiny), that can either create uncertainty (in the mind) or evoke intuitive guidance to call you forward. 

In other words, your exact direction may not be clear, so don’t be distressed if this is the case. After all, Mars is still Retrograde through Feb 23 and Mercury is just coming back online following its Retrograde. There is much restructuring happening – and still unfolding. 

Capricorn is ruled by Saturn (restriction) – squared by expansive, idealistic Jupiter (exact for the 2nd time on Dec 24), with divergent agendas and methods of operation, this aspect can create tension or stress. Organization vs. a leap of faith. Neither is wrong, just two different approaches.

With Mercury opposing Jupiter in mutual reception (they are in each other’s signs) – and both squaring Saturn, you may hit obstacles or delays that you can’t get around. It’s a setup for potential stress, so the simpler you keep things, the better – and still, you may be faced with issues that become an energy drain. So easy does it, move slowly, keep it simple.

With the Sun in Capricorn, in general, less is more. Stick with what’s important – what matters. This is a great time to reassess your values and put energy into that which you care about most, eliminating fluff. The serious sign of Capricorn rules reality – where do you need to get real in your life? Focus on that.

Dec 23 – Venus sextile Chiron. This is a beautiful day for heart healing, relationship amends, reconnections, healing around Self-esteem and valuing your Self. If there’s something you need to say or someone you need to reach out to, this is a good day to do it. 

Dec 24 – Jupiter square Saturn. It’s Christmas Eve and Hanukah Eve, when you or your loved ones may be traveling, wrapping presents, doing last-minute shopping and you may feel as your freedom is limited in some way by circumstances or you have extra responsibilities. Whatever comes up, take a breath and release any stress in a healthy way, remember the spirit of the season, and practice extra special Self-care. You are being prepared for something, being restructured. Can you feel it?

Dec 26 – Mercury opposite Jupiter. This has been in operation since mid-Nov, so the energy is not new, this indicates a completion – or that you’re ready to decide something. This is big picture energy, a possibility, a vision that aligns with your higher truth. Tap into that energy to see where you are.

Dec 27 – Mercury square Saturn. This has also been in operation since mid-Nov, and here’s the reality check. You’ve been thinking about this and whatever won’t work shows up now. You get clear about what you can do and make plans that you’re willing to commit to, focused on the details. 

You are serious in your approach, erring on the side of caution. You end up with a plan that feels doable – or you may decide that what you thought you’d do isn’t possible. Stay tuned… and don’t be discouraged, not matter what. This isn’t the end of the story…

This is a heavier than usual holiday week, with some energies that have been percolating for a while coming to a conclusion during the week, and some to be continued. 

See what resonates for you and know that this is a fertile time for going within to honor your development over the past year, as you enter a sacred turning point on the home stretch of 2024. Love yourself and love others. We are One World.

If you feel like you aren’t making outward progress right now, it may be because we’re hovering in Mercury and Mars Retrograde – with Saturn and Neptune, although Direct, barely moving either. So we have four out of ten planets basically in place – which you may be feeling as exhaustion, low vitality or two steps forward, one step back.

However, this is a profound time to release, cleanse and clear space (home, body, mental and emotional Self), to detach from old patterns, routines and ways of operating that no longer serve you. Never underestimate the impact of creating space for the new… 

Dec 13 – Mercury sextiles Venus, a beautiful aspect for (re)connecting in harmony or finding a perspective that supports socializing and creative activities. All in all, it feels light, warm and lively. 

Dec 15 – Full Moon in Gemini @ 1:02am PST. Full Moons bring things to light. The Moon in multi-tasking Gemini opposes the Sun in big picture Sagittarius, seeking wisdom and meaning. Gemini is changeable and Sagittarius is impulsive, so you may be excited about the prospects of an opportunity or idea – or you may have multiple ideas. But Neptune is squaring the Full Moon, creating confusion or you may idealize what you see (only the good), blurring reality so you’re not sure what the truth or facts actually are. Not great for decision-making… 

Neptune square the Full Moon invites you to go within, utilizing your preferred method of transcendence for creating peace, stillness and rest that offers you comfort and direction. Sound healing, singing, nature, salt baths, meditation and chanting are some practices you might try. Neptune is aligned with frequencies and vibrations – those you hear and those you can feel.   

On a higher level, Gemini is conscious awareness, Sagittarius is Higher Truth and Neptune is Divine Love – empathy, compassion and non-judgment. What do you want to learn, share or become that will serve you and the Greater Good? Consider your your convictions and align your life with your inner guidance. 

Dec 15 – Mercury turns Direct, and new info should come to light as the days unfold, providing you with a new perspective that will assist you in decision-making when you are ready. Be patient and wait to make any major decisions. More will be revealed…

Mercury in Sagittarius (Ruler of the Gemini Full Moon) trines Mars Retrograde in Leo, initiating ideas that you may want to act on, but it’s not a good time. Wait until the planets get moving after a week for better results and if you must begin now, pack your patience and allow for new info to be revealed as Mercury picks up steam going forward. 

Dec 18 – Sun square Neptune. This is not a day for spreadsheets, linear focus, details or deadlines. This is a day for creative expression and enjoyment, rest, leisure activities, therapeutic care, spiritual practices or time with loved ones (human and furry friends :)). You may feel sluggish or soft, as your energy is being called within by Neptune, and I hope you make good use of it by tapping into your feelings, intuition and energetic connections, gently in flow. 

Neptune rules movies, dance, film, photography, dreams (waking and sleeping), and mystical pursuits, among other things. Neptune sees the world through its own lens, so if you can detach from 3D you can experience your own personal virtual reality :)) That’s what mystics, artists and creatives do… and that’s what children do naturally…

Dec 19 – Venus trine Jupiter. This is about happiness, joy, blessings and flow. The gifts of life in harmony with generosity, abundance, rewards of your efforts – you never know how it will manifest but it is sweet. It may be appreciation, kindness or an act of love. It is beautiful, precious and always welcomed, no matter the form it arrives in – love and abundance is the grace of life. 

The Winter Solstice is on Dec 21 when the Sun enters Capricorn at 1:21am PST. This week will be slow moving due to Mars Retrograde, Mercury just turning Direct, with Saturn and Neptune inching along. Info and commerce may be glitchy, which can be inconvenient during holiday shopping, travel and communications, but it is also an opportune time to slow down and chill out as much as possible.  

Allow the universe to speak to you and guide you lovingly. Practice gratitude, appreciate the love all around you, disconnect from anything low vibe that isn’t good for you and make it your business to practice impeccable Self-care. Every little thing counts!

We have another major energetic shift. Normally at this time of year it’s go, go, go – socializing, holiday parties, shopping and travel plans are on the menu – and they still may be. But Mercury Retrograde through Dec 15 in Sagittarius is asking you to slow down, inviting you to re-examine your beliefs, ideals and truth. 

Mars stops today to turn Retrograde tomorrow and slow the action down further. This is not your typical holiday season…

Dec 6 – Mars Stations Retrograde today, then slowly moves backward in Leo for a month until it enters Cancer on Jan 6, and finally turns Direct again on Feb 24, 2025. 

During Mars Retrograde the drive and will of Mars is turned inward, where it illuminates your motivations and methods of operating, so you can see if your “whys” and actions align with your higher truth and ideals.

Reconsider what you’re putting energy into and if your goals are aligned with what really matters to you or if you are you driven by conditioned ego expressions (public recognition, attention, looking good). This is an opportunity to develop awareness and mastery over your lifeforce and drive, and to realign your actions.

Mars is how you get what you want – how you take action (direct – or not), and what happens when you don’t / can’t get what you want. Therefore, anger and frustration are part of this equation, and in Retrograde, when goals, processes and plans can be disrupted, think of your historic response. How do you deal with disappointment or obstacles? 

Maybe you don’t go for your dreams for fear of failure. Everyone is different and this period is an opportunity to explore and upgrade your template around beliefs and actions in pursuit of your heart’s desires, as well as deliberate strategies to get there. 

This is not the time to make big plans for moving forward in 2025, as there are too many moving parts with missing info at this point. With Mercury and Mars Retro, this is an ideal time for clearing, contemplation, taking inventory of what’s working and what needs attention, then getting the support you need now – or exploring for when you’re ready. 

Dec 7 – This is a busy astro day with multiple events, listed in order of appearance. There is so much going on, you may want to moderate your activities and company accordingly. And remember, Mars begins its Retrograde journey today, so it’s still barely moving. Don’t be surprised if things are slow or delayed.

Venus in Aquarius. Venus is friendly and likes to socialize in this authentic air sign that is community-minded and seeks their tribe, who have similar interests, ideals, passions, often for the Greater Good or innovative projects and paths. 

Venus in Aquarius is independent and likes to share ideas with those on the same wavelength, sometimes turning friends into lovers and lovers into friends. Also this can express as avant-garde art, aesthetics, quirky style choices and $$ (bitcoin, etc). 

Venus conjunct Pluto. This is the first time Venus is w/ Pluto in Aquarius, a deep connection in a mental sign  sharing innovative, experimental ideas or unconventional relationships, tech-based, sci-fi bonds or humanitarian-oriented connections are all possible. I can feel the possibilities of various types linking up with simpatico ideas in unorthodox relationships. 

Sun opposite Jupiter. This is a buoyant, upbeat energy of optimism and possibilities. This can lead you to overindulge because you feel so good and Jupiter wants more of (fill in the blank)!  You can easily over-promise, as you want to say yes to invitations and commit to helping or joining a project. Watch it. Don’t make promises today that you may regret tomorrow! Enjoy, but stay cool (free) for now… 

Neptune Stations Direct. It’s technically moving forward, but it’s been at 27º Pisces since mid-Oct ’24 where it stays until Feb ’25 before inching forward to finally reach 0º Aries in April ’25. The turning point for Neptune (Ruler of Pisces), highlights all experiential activities and you may feel a little drained or low energy – or your imagination may be activated. Neptune calls your energy within, so spiritual practices, dreams, nature, and relaxation are soothing for you. It will continue to be flowing in the background as always, unwinding old structures that no longer serve you / us and beaming Divine Love to those who are open to it. 

Dec 10 – Sun trine Chiron. Chiron is at 19º Aries – the degree of the Solar Eclipse in April ’24, so you may have an opportunity for healing or awakening around anything that came up for you at the Eclipse, and if not, you still have a possibility for healing an aspect related to personal empowerment, authentic expression and courage. A Chiron in Aries healing serves any Mars issues you may have, so make good use of the available energy and be open to new insights and wisdom that may come through for you. 

Dec 12 – Venus opposite Mars. This can create sparks of passion and creativity, but it can also create frustration and conflict, as Mars is Retro, and with these two, what starts out playful or stimulating can turn into irritation in a hard aspect, but it’s not heavy damage. Just know, Mars is fragile, so easy does it if things get heated and give it space. Venus will be welcomed energy to lighten up Mars’ stagnant pace, so enjoy the lively goodness and be mindful and compassionate b/c Mars is touchy right now.

Mercury sextile Venus. This is a beautiful for creative activities, harmonious communications and soothing conversations and all connections, verbal and non-verbal. A warm, easy flow for networking, diplomacy and collaborating with others. Enjoy and socialize or reach out to make the most of this fertile, open energy! 

We will be approaching the Full Moon in Gemini on Dec 15 and Mercury’s Station Direct. As we get close to a Full Moon, the emotional energy heightens until the Moon is Full, so later in the week be mindful to be extra spacious and gracious with your Self and others. 

We are in a slowdown to review and course correct anything within you that’s calling for attention. Please don’t be discouraged if you find mistakes, flaws or issues that you need to handle. This is the perfect time for healing, with lots of support available. I can’t get over how much help is available online for free, as well as teachers, mentors and guides are here for sessions and trainings if you’re looking. 

Get the help! Let others in to mirror, love and support you so you don’t have to do everything yourself. Not to mention, your healing is your research and development for your path going forward (and you don’t have to know where you’re going). Just follow the yellow brick road… ✨
