This spring, in the midst of world chaos, a mated pair of purple finches made a nest in a bucket of silk flowers that hangs next to my front door. They spent much of their time on the transom above the door serenading me, however inadvertently.  I have little familiarity with purple fiches so this is my first up-close encounter and I have to say that I find them enchanting.
Once the nest was completed, one egg arrived and a couple of days later, four more were added. The male stayed busy, bringing the mother food and singing to her and the world (and me). Even on rainy nasty days, one or the other of them spent time on the transom singing with all their hearts.*
A few weeks later, the eggs hatched and five babies arrived in the world. The parents were very busy gathering food to feed all five of them, but they still found time to sing. Before long, the babies were learning to fly. The song became cacophony as hungry babies clamored for food and attention. I watched with joy from my dining room window as the fat, fluffy babies became stronger and more skilled. I watched as they learned to sing too.
The babies have left home now, but they have stayed nearby, which delights me.  Now I have seven purple finches who grace my porch to share their song with me. The male still sits on my transom every morning and sings for several hours. Both he and the female return in late afternoon to sing, often accompanied by one or more of the babies.
These birds have been art in a world of closures, beauty in a world of chaos, miracle as deaths mount, and comfort in a world of isolation. They have touched me profoundly and I am indebted to them for bringing me such joy, however unintended the gift was.
And so I am told:
Earth abounds with joy and miracle. Your lives here were never designed to leave you bereft of comfort, for in the remembrance of beauty, joy and love lies the pathway Home. All was planned to keep you from forgetting completely all that you are, designed as gentle reminders along the way to prod you through that most powerful tool you received: your heart.Â
Embrace these reminders, however mundane they might appear at first, as they light the way home to your deepest heart, which in turn opens the way to the New World. Pause and acknowledge a moment of transcendence as it occurs, allowing it to fill your heart completely. Turn your eyes from those who act in anger, violence or selfishness, for your path is not theirs. They have their own destiny to fulfill, as do you. Search instead for the anger and violence within your deepest being. Once something within you is named, it loses its power over you. Thank it for the lesson learned and breathe into your heart, where love lies waiting.
Watch for the gifts, clean your house within and embrace the joy that is there waiting for you. The Pathway home is yours.
(A serious note from me: It has never been as important as it is right now for each of us to do our shadow work. I know I have said it repeatedly and I am saying it again: dig deep, find that old stuff, bring it into the light and own it with love. I cannot emphasize enough how important this is!! The Karmic Debt of accumulated lives aches to be released. Release the dross so the gold within takes wing. It is less frightening than you think and more powerful than you can imagine.

There enters in every human’s life a time when a life-altering decision must be made. You as a world are in this place at this moment. You must decide indisputably who you are. Are you simply the entity you currently embody in this lifetime or are you a divine being with the ability to co-create your own reality? Humans have lived their lives with a watch-wait-and-see attitude for far too long due to passiveness and an unwillingness to accept responsibility for each role played in creating the conundrum within which you currently find yourselves embroiled. While time is a human construct, it has nonetheless been incorporated into your reality, so I say to you: The time is now. You must each and everyone be part of the solution, but in your heart, you must act and believe as if the decision to do so relies solely on your participation to be successful. Because it does. You must believe that time, as you count it, is of the essence. Because it is.
A new round of changes is on the horizon, amidst the current changes all humans are attempting to incorporate. Embrace the uncertainty with the knowledge that you are loved beyond imagining by all who watch, guide and teach you.
Today take a moment and look outside your windows. In spite of the chaos that currently defines our personal lives, life on earth continues to move forward. Flowers bloom as spring progresses in the northern hemisphere and winter brings hints of her bite in the southern. Outside my house, the birds sing with absolute abandon and joy this spring, untouched by the disease that has profoundly impacted human life.
We here in the southern US are opening back up, despite recommendations for caution and care. One cannot help but see the spector of a second wave of cases coming as people begin to pour out of their houses to shop, eat out, go to movies and so on. We know so very little about this disease that continues to exhibit more and more symptoms as it cries out to be heard.
We really thought life on earth would go on as it always had and we would be ok. We forgot that life on earth can go on without us. Without us, Mother Earth might slowly reclaim her paradise and become the Garden of Eden once more.
What can you do, you ask? Where you see greed in corporations and politicians out there, seek for greed within your own heart. What do you covet, cling to? Let it go.
Where you see acts of anger and violence, seek for the seeds of those acts within you. Where do you feel fear and helplessness? Most anger and violence stem from there, buried deeply within. Seek to love the unlovable hidden within your heart. Where you hate, down deep inside, where you judge others, where you turn your back on need, find them all, each and everyone and bring them into the light.
If you wish to see change for the better out there, then it must start within your own heart. Face the unlovable, accept that it is part of you and own it. Own it with all your heart. In doing so, you create room for forgiveness, both for yourself and others, which in turn creates profound Wholing.
As we own up to our complete responsibility for our thoughts, words and actions, we remember the divine beings that we are and begin to co-create this beautiful New World that is coming whether we are present or not.
There is so much beauty in the world around us, just as there is an incredible amount of beauty within our own hearts. Let’s make a concerted effort to allow that to dominate our lives, indeed to become the entirety of our lives. We are so much more than we have ever thought we are. Let today be the day we step fully into that.

I am beginning this on Earth Day, as I watch the noontime news for an update on our weather as we have the third round of severe storms scheduled for tomorrow. I tell you this because I am struggling a bit today. It won’t last; so I don’t attach much meaning to this “episode.” Occasionally, I have days when the news (which I generally keep at a distance after a quick perusal to update myself) and our current reality just simply get to me. Today is one of those days.
I seem to experience this process every couple of weeks. We can’t have a change of this magnitude without taking a moment – or two – to feel the associated anger and grief, frustration and confusion. In a way, it is part of the sacredness of this moment in our time. As much as we must face our own responsibility, incurred in this lifetime or through karma accumulated in other lifetimes, we also must experience every emotion generated by awakening. The trick is not to get lost in it.
Getting discouraged from time to time is no surprise. A quick dip in the news is all it takes to disgust and dismay, to feel as if this period we are living through is never-ending, that there is no hope in sight.
In my deepest heart, in that place that sings of joy and love and promise, I know that isn’t true. I know in my bones that this is the moment I have been waiting for my entire life. I know my purpose and I know there is brightness ahead. We are all here together deliberately for this moment in time/space. This is, quite simply, a huge transformation point. We know this, right?
I also know, without any question, that Love is the answer. How many times have we heard that? In this moment of time, it has never been more true. Love yourself, love everyone around you, know nor unknown, and love our blessed Mother Earth, with all of your being. Our open and loving hearts are the seat of all creation, and the New World begins within each of us.
Though it may seem otherwise, the path forward is clear. Those who resist are far fewer than your news would have you believe. As humans, emotions are an enormous part of who you are in this reality so it is important to allow your emotions to express themselves. The messages they carry are important. Important too not to lose your way in them. They are designed to move you along, not to keep you paralyzed in one place. Each of you is being flooded with love in the form of different rays which come to support and to guide you. Allow yourselves to open and receive this blessed gift of spiritual sustenance. Utilize the Ray of Wholing to help your body through these many changes. Learning to be patient with yourselves opens the door to entirely new ways of being within your world and with others.
When you find yourselves lost in the craving for a different future, remember that the Present is where your attention must be given. Breathe, breathe, breathe. And never forget, for one single moment of your time, that you chose to be here and light the way. You are more important than you think. Let the Love within speak to you, move and direct you. Your purpose has never been more clear, or more important.

A week ago this time, here in the south, we were preparing ourselves for severe weather, and it turned out to be worse than we imagined. A total of thirty-three lives were tragically lost in multiple tornadoes, ranging in strength from EF 1 to EF 3. It was a long terrifying night for everyone in the surrounding area. I spent the night in my closet with the pets, watching the weather being live-streamed on my phone.  Pillow, blankets and comforters wrapped around us, we huddled and listened to the storm howl around us. Thunder, roaring wind and lashing rain sounded, literally, like the gates of hell had opened.
Tornadoes went slightly south of my house, and slightly north, and miraculously keeping us completely safe. I got up the next morning and went outside expecting to see trees and branches down, and debris everywhere.
To my astonishment, there were only a very few leaves on the ground. Not one branch. Not one tree. Not an overturned anything. All roofs perfectly fine.
How could this be? I had heard the storm – the howling wind, the rain battering my house – for hours, yet we never lost power or had one single bit of damage.
Just outside my neighborhood, damage and debris were everywhere. Signs of flooding with washed away areas, standing water, branches, trees, the whole bit was everywhere, never mind the images of entirely flattened neighborhoods on tv.
I couldn’t begin to take it in. How could this be?
All life is capricious. It comes, it goes, it flourishes, it declines. It is energy in motion. Nothing is certain, as manifestation occurs in the moment, as it is co-created by you. The foretold Time of Change is upon you now and must be seen through until the end. Do not expect to get comfortable as it will continue to compel each and every one of you to awaken and take responsibility. These conditions did not arise to punish you but to awaken you to who you really are and what your earthly purpose is. The longer this awakening is resisted, the longer the Time of Change will continue.
Many are awake now, and others beginning to open their eyes. Much more is required. The dying Patriarchy fights tooth and nail to hang on to what slips away with each breath. Attempting to wrest control will ultimately only weaken them, as they dig a pit from which they cannot escape. The Breaking is almost complete. Their purpose served, they will fade from view.
What then, we ask of you? Are you prepared yet to be more? To be all that you truly are? The choice is yours but make it carefully, from your deepest heart, where Truth can be found.
Observe the places where fear seeks to hobble you and flood them with love. Each person has a place of Undoing which calls for absolute vigilance. Faith and trust must be your foundation and love must lead the way. There is no other way through, and through you must go.
In answer to my question, it occurred to me that my experience in the closet with a storm howling around me is very similar to our entire lives on earth right now. Between the pandemic and climate change, authoritarian governments, the assault on who we are and overwhelming greed, we each live in our own little bubble. What the bubble is, depends on us. Is it a house of straw-based on prejudice, anger, fear, and so on? Or is it composed of brick, rock-solid based on faith, trust and an open heart?
I don’t suppose one way or the other about my own experience. Rather, it has compelled me to look ever deeper into my own heart for all that is hidden or unloved. This year has been and continues to be an intensely spiritual experience for me, every day taking me deeper into my heart. I don’t presume anything about what that means; this is merely where I have been led. I share this experience with you in the hopes that it will lead you ever deeper as well because we can only do this thing together. If we are all One, isn’t today the day we begin to truly embrace that?
