While the end of the worm hole nears, and it is becoming very apparent that we are almost there, isn’t it?, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the spectacular (though not at all splashy) end of the 20 year long Cassini space mission. The Cassini was programmed to take a swan dive early this morning through Saturn’s rings into the planet itself. It was running out of gas, and scientists didn’t want to risk the spacecraft crashing into one of Saturn’s Moons… It took Cassini about 7 years to get from Jupiter to Saturn, and while it traveled through our solar system it served to teach us SO much about how our system was formed.
